I sing the sad song of the octopus.
After all is said the truth is thus:
With all the pulpo you people eat,
to snatch a mermaid by the feet,
should not create a human fuss.
Shoot me with your water slingshot.
Pound me, boil me in a steel pot.
But know this now, if you will:
Mermaid steak is sweeter still.
Try it and mollusk you'd eat not.
I am papier-mâché, resin, oyster, sea urchin and mussel shell, a cameo of a Raja Ampat islander, barnacles, brick and beads. My tie is of beads and a tassel from a Bhutanese rosary.
I am decorated in acrylic and goauche paint and sealed with clear enamel.
